Or has Victoria become the number one destination for Canadians who choose to live on the streets?

On that train of thought, I pose a question to the residents of Victoria:

Has ‘Our Place’ on Pandora Street contributed to the increase of homeless people arriving in Victoria?

How you may wonder.

Well, to put it bluntly, by providing a safe hangout where people can openly drink alcohol, and use and sell drugs – while receiving free food, clothing and shelter all day long.

So I say yes.

Al Tysick and his “open door policy” to addicts is enabling people to behave badly. In my opinion, Tysick is doing a disservice to both the drug addicts, and the downtown businesses and homeowners who are affected by the increase of crime, loitering, panhandling; and worst of all – dirty needles and condoms surrounding the vicinity of Our Place.

Hello people!

Drug addicts are openly selling and using injection drugs, and smoking out of crack pipes on Our Place property, and Tysick has the gall to allow laws to be broken under the pretense that their organization is “non-judgmental” and “Christian.”

Maybe it is time Victorians are a little, no, a lot more judgmental of people living for free in Victoria.

And maybe it is time to clean up your peoples’ act Mr. Tysick, the rest of Victoria does not want to risk being infected by the dirty needles around “Your Place“.

The “homeless” arrive by the dozens, and have now created a ghetto tent city in our beautiful downtown; the inhabitants are desecrating one of the oldest churches in Victoria, an icon of our heritage – and the homeless show their appreciation for the city and its communities generosity – by literally shitting on our lawns.

I say, NO, you cannot take over our downtown. We rely on tourism, and shanty’s for people who would rather take drugs, and live off charity of strangers will cause working people to suffer.

The rest of us have rights as well, and they include keeping our streets and parks free of dirty needles, condoms and dangerous individuals panhandling and pushing drugs on our streets.
